Direct to Garment

At Vildmarken, we use modern DTG technology (Direct to Garment) in our own textile print shop in Grums. The method means that the design is printed directly into the garment using digital textile printers and water-based pigment inks, instead of being applied as a separate plastic or transfer layer on top of the fabric.

Unlike traditional printing methods, where the ink often forms a layer on top of the textile, DTG ink penetrates the fibers. This makes the print soft, flexible and comfortable to wear – even with larger designs. The result is a natural feel where the design becomes part of the garment rather than a surface application.

Precision and Detail

DTG technology allows for highly detailed prints, smooth color gradients and complex designs in high resolution. For us, this is essential, as many of our designs feature wildlife illustrations, nature motifs and graphic elements where sharpness and depth are key parts of the expression.

The process is fully digital, meaning each garment is printed individually. This ensures consistent quality and allows us to produce smaller batches without compromising the final result.

Pretreatment and Fixation

To ensure durability, garments are pretreated before printing. The pretreatment helps the ink bond correctly to the fibers and improves color vibrancy, particularly on darker garments. After printing, the design is heat-cured, locking the pigments into the textile and making the print wash-resistant.

When performed correctly – with the right temperature, pressure and finishing – the result is a durable print that maintains both color and shape over time.

Quality at the Core

We exclusively work with garments of consistent and high quality. DTG printing requires specific textile structure and fiber composition, which is why we carefully select materials that deliver optimal results. A stable and tightly woven cotton surface, for example, produces sharper prints and better color depth.

The combination of quality garments, modern equipment and in-house production gives us full control over the entire process – from digital file to finished product. This ensures that every item leaving our print shop meets the standard we would proudly wear ourselves.

For us, DTG is not just a printing method. It is a way to combine design, comfort and responsible production in one and the same garment.
